はじめに / Introduction

芦原研究室は東京大学生産技術研究所で研究活動を進めており，大学院学生は工学系研究科の物理工学専攻に所属しています．
大学院博士課程学生に限り，一部， 工学系研究科先端学際工学専攻でも受け入れを行っています．

Our group belongs to Institute of Industrial Science, at the University of Tokyo (research) and Department of Applied Physics, the Graduate School of Engineering (education).
D. students are also accepted by the Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, the Graduate School of Engineering.

大学院学生 / Graduate Student

修士課程の学生として当研究室の一員となるためには，東京大学大学院 工学系研究科 物理工学専攻の入学試験を受験し合格する必要があります．
博士課程の学生として当研究室の一員となるためには，東京大学大学院 工学系研究科 物理工学専攻または東京大学大学院 工学系研究科 先端学際工学専攻の入学試験を受験し合格する必要があります．

当研究室では超高速光科学分野の実験研究を通して，サイエンスを愉しみ，アイデアやテクノロジーを生み出す苦しみと喜びを経験して頂きます．
学問としては，光学・超短パルスレーザー・光と物質の相互作用を中心に学び，個々のテーマに応じて固体物理や量子化学も学んで頂きます．
こうしたプロセスを通じて，将来，創造性豊かな研究者・技術者になるために必要な，物事の捉え方やプロジェクトの進め方を身につけます．

東京大学生産技術研究所という，総合工学研究所の中で研究に携わる価値はとても高いと言えます．
光科学・光技術を突き詰めながらも，さまざまな工学分野，さらには社会に対しても視野を広げることができるからです．
事実，当研究室では，固体物理・表面物理・ナノマテリアル・化学・エレクトロニクスを専門とする研究室との，あるいは，企業との共同研究を通して，分野の垣根を越えた光科学研究を推進しています．

To be a graduate student (master), you need to enter the Department of Applied Physics, the University of Tokyo. To be a graduate student (doctoral), you need to enter the Department of Applied Physics or the Department of Advanced Interdisciplinary Studies, the University of Tokyo. The entrance exam is held in August or September every year.
